Method 1: Disabling memory consuming extensions and themes 

  • Extensions and themes can cause Firefox to use more memory than it normally would. Before disabling the extensions and themes, we can confirm and determine if an extension or theme is causing Firefox to use too much memory.
  • To determine if an extension or theme is causing Firefox to use too much memory start Firefox in Safe mode. In Safe Mode, extensions and themes are disabled.

How to start Firefox in Safe mode:

Step 1: You can start Firefox by holding shift key

Step 2: At the top of Firefox window, click on Firefox button->Help ->Restart with add-ons disabled

Firefox will start up with Firefox safe mode dialog. After Firefox starts in Safe Mode, test for the memory utilized. If it shows any changes in memory utilized perform the below steps to disable the extensions:

Step 3: At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button->click on add-ons tab

Step 4: In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the on Extensions panel

Step 5: Click the name of an extension in the list to select it.

Step 6: Click Disable and restart the Firefox

 

Method 2: Turn off hardware acceleration

With some graphics card and graphics driver setups, Firefox may crash or have troubles. To turn off the hardware acceleration

 Step 1: At the top of Firefox window, click on Firefox button->Options

Step 2:  Select advanced tab->general tab

Step 3: Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available

Step 4: Select Firefox button, click exit, start Firefox normally.

 

Method 3: Switch to default Theme 

Step 1: At the top of the Firefox window, click on Firefox button Add-ons button

Step 2: The add-ons manager tab will open, select appearance panel

Step 3: Select the default theme, then click Enable button

Step 4: Click restart Firefox and check the memory utilized

 

Method 4: Minimize the memory in Fire fox

Step 1: Click on the Firefox button

Step 2: Select about memory

Step 3: Click on reduce memory usage button

 

Import PST files in Outlook 2011

  1. There is no option to add a data file (archived PST) in Outlook 2011, but we can import the archived PST files in Outlook.

 

  1. Open Outlook 2011.

 

  1. Go to the Menu, click File and select Import

  1. Select the Outlook Data File (.pst or .olm) radio button.

  1. Select the Outlook for Windows Data File (.pst) radio button.

  2. Browse to the location of the desired .pst file , select it and click the Import button.

The contents of the .pst file will appear in a folder in the left pane of the Outlook 2011. The folder name will be that of the imported .pst.

** It is important to note that the .pst has been converted to an .olm file, which is an outlook for Mac data file. So, Outlook will not export back to .pst file, the best method is to create a copy of the original PST file and then import that PST file in Outlook so that the original file can be accessed it from Windows machine if needed afterwards.

5.1 In the Programs section check select Tally.ERP 9.

5.2 In the Tally.ERP 9 Setup section, you can accept the default directories as shown or click on the buttons provided next to the respective text boxes to change the path of Application Directory, Data Directory, Configuration Directory, Language Directory and License Directory.

5.2.1 Application Directory – The program files reside in this directory.

5.2.2 Data Directory– by default Tally.ERP 9 data is stored in C:\Tally.ERP 9\Data. During the installation process, the wizard detects and retains the data path of previously installed version of Tally.ERP 9.

Steps to activate license in Tally ERP 9.0

  • Launch the Tally ERP 9.0 application to activate the license.
  • Add the below url’s to the exception list:

  • Also add a new rule in firewall to allow the following ports to communicate with the tally server

-Ports 80, 9050 and 9060

  • Launch the Tally application
  • Select the option Activate license –>Enter the serial number and activation code provided by the vendor.

From server:-

Step one:

Log into the  server

Step two:

Navigate to the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSLicensing.

Step three:

Click MSLicensing

Step four:

On the Registry menu, click Export Registry File

Step five:

In the File name box, type any name (For eg: mslicensingbackup), and then click Save.

From Client machine:-

Step one:

Log into the client machine

Step two:

Copy the exported registry file to client machine

Step three:

Navigate to the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSLicensing

Step four:

Click MSLicensing

Step five:

On the Registry menu, click Import Registry File.

Step six:

Select exported registry file (For eg: mslicensingbackup), and then click Ok.

Step seven:

Check and confirm whether able to access the server via RDP
